    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have a PEL, Substitute License, Short-Term Substitution License
    • Possess extensive experience in working with at-risk students and families.
    • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling (preferred not required) .
    • Ability to perform all job-related functions.
    • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to completes tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Communicate and maintain a good working relationship with principals, teachers, parents/guardians, students and community agencies.
    • Possess strong organizational skills.
    • Possess strong problem-solving skills.
    • Possess extensive experience in working with community agencies in providing support networks to assist at-risk students and families.
    • Possess background knowledge of and experience working in the public school system and with middle grade students.
    • Possess background knowledge of and experience in implementation of intervention strategies.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Track the daily attendance of assigned students.
    • Track grades of assigned students through the use of the District #186 intranet
    • Track discipline referrals of assigned to students.
    • Maintain database (via Google Docs) to track student attendance, behaviors, and grades (data will be due by the 5th of each month).
    • Maintain documentation/daily record of communication and action/taken in regards to student absences, behavior, and grades.
    • Maintain parent communication log as documentation of outreach.
    • Attend/meet with grade level teams to gather input and share data of assigned students.
    • Attend/meet with Problem Solving Team to gather input and share data regarding assigned students.
    • Provide assistance to parents/guardians to promote their participation in the student's learning experiences.
    • Conduct home visits/wellness checks.
    • Work with students and families in establishing/writing success plans which include setting realistic goals.
    • Implement intervention strategies t9 improve/increase attendance, academics, and behavior
    • Facilitate student groups within the school setting (or via Zoom if attending remotely)
    • Organize activities for at-risk students and parents/guardians.
    • Assist students and families in contacting appropriate community agencies for assistance as needed.
    • Assist with device distribution and collection.
    • Conduct wellness checks/home visits.
    • Communicate/check-in with teachers to provide assistance with student and family outreach.
    • Attend/participate in building/faculty Zoom meetings.
    • Communicate with administration/deans regarding faculty, student, and family outreach.
    • Attend/participate in grade level meetings.
    • Support building initiatives.
    • Support faculty, staff, and administration.
