Robeson County Local Government is Hiring a Telecommunicator Non-Emergency Transport, EMS ( Full-Time) Near Lumberton, NC
Example of DutiesUnder general supervision, provides emergency and non-emergency communication response to public requesting emergency medical service. Work involves receiving non-emergency calls and routing or assigns appropriately. Obtaining all necessary patient information and transmits same to appropriate responding ambulance, maintaining appropriate logs and documents, recalling citizens when necessary, and obtaining any needed pre-authorization for transport. Will verify and submit all insurance and payment information for billing purposes. Must be able to operate a variety of equipment that may include computer systems, radios, telephone, and related equipment. Reports to Operations Supervisor.
Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma; 1 year of experience as a telecommunicator or call taker; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.
The following certifications will be required upon hire:
CPR
NIMS 100 and 700 (National Incident Management System)
Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants.
