Description
Robert Half's non-profit client is seeking a Content Specialist. This role supports the creation of English and Spanish-language content that highlights the organization's work in Program, Policy and Advocacy, External Affairs, and the Office of the President. With guidance from the Senior Manager of Bilingual Content, the Content Specialist will contribute to editorial plans, research and write field stories, and manage project requests. They will work with marketing and communication stakeholders to write, edit, and translate content for various audiences, including policymakers, funders, affiliates, and Latino communities. The Content Specialist will also help plan and deliver integrated communications campaigns across various channels such as event materials, speaker remarks, social media, web pages, and email newsletters. This role requires excellent writing, project management, and communication skills to ensure stakeholders are informed and high-quality content is delivered on time.
Primary Job Duties
Editorial & Story Planning:
  • Develop and optimize quarterly and annual editorial and storytelling plans.
  • Build and maintain a story bank by conducting research, interviews, and capturing content at events.
  • Recommend and research stories for communication campaigns.
Writing & Content Creation:
  • Develop concepts and content in English and Spanish for events, social media, websites, email/newsletters, and other communications channels.
  • Write and edit various types of content, including blogs, video scripts, reports, fact sheets, social media posts, emails, event content, and speeches.
  • Translate, proofread, and edit content from other teams with quick turnaround deadlines.
Operations:
  • Manage the story intake process, including creating templates and standards.
  • Develop training on writing and storytelling.
  • Triage the editorial queue to ensure deadlines are met.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in journalism, communications, marketing, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and AP style.
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in both expository and creative copywriting.
  • Ability to shape complex subjects into clear communications for various audiences.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values.
Skills & Abilities
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Expert in grammar, proofreading, and editing.
  • Strong presentation and persuasion skills.
  • Proficient in project management tools, ideally Monday.com, and Microsoft 365 Suite.
