Robert Half is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the long-term contract / temporary role of Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. It's a thriving environment where effort is rewarded.Responsibilities- Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments- Partake in annual closing processes- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner- Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed- Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management- Take part in various department-wide initiatives- Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
