In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a fair amount of time dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you'll also be charged with various aspects of internal reporting. You'll also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes.What you get to do every single day- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner- Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll- Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation- Participate in various department-wide initiatives- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed- Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
