An up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Gardena, California area, the company offering this challenging short-term contract / temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.What you get to do every day- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision- Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed- Maintain monthly payment schedules- Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting- Take part in various department-wide initiatives- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
