Robert Half has a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity available for an experienced, organized Staff Accountant at a reputable Telecom Services company. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Ellettsville, Indiana region.What you get to do every single day- Participate in various department-wide initiatives- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner- Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP- Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision- Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
