Robert Half is searching for an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Des Plaines, Illinois area, this role is a career-building, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.Major responsibilities- Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision- Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP- Participate in various department-wide initiatives- Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation- Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries- Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation- Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner- Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll- Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request- Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
