Robert Half has partnered with an esteemed organization in the Medical Devices industry to find a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The Bohemia, New York based company offering this multi-faceted, challenging long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity provides a thriving environment where innovation is encouraged and effort is rewarded.Responsibilities- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation- Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll- Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed- Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments- Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
