In this role, the Staff Accountant holds responsibility for preparing monthly and year-end closings, fixed asset maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You'll also be involved in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.Your responsibilities in this role- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Participate in various department-wide initiatives- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
