Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with an eye for accuracy to fill a short-term contract / temporary to hire position at a growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. It's a thriving environment where effort is rewarded.Key responsibilities- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll- Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments- Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision- Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner- Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed- Partake in annual closing processes- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
