The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with a prominent healthcare organization in the Indianapolis Area to find a Medical Payment Posting Specialist to join their team. Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pmResponsibilities for the position include the following: Apply patient payments to the correct line item charges within the medical billing system.Ensure timely processing of payments received through various channels (cash, check, credit card, etc.).Reconcile discrepancies between patient payments and system records.Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient account information.Promptly address account adjustments and updates while upholding data integrity.Research and resolve discrepancies in patient billing statements.Analyze explanation of benefits (EOBs) from insurance companies, patients, and government agencies.Distribute payments based on EOB instructions and patient financial responsibility.Research and resolve denied or underpaid claims.Balance daily lockbox deposits and electronic remittance advices (ERAs) with system records.Identify and investigate discrepancies in financial reports.Prepare reconciliation reports for accounting purposesMay include customer service interaction with patients regarding billing inquiries and concerns.Staying updated on healthcare billing regulations and coding practices.Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
