The most successful candidate for this position will be able to establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements.What you get to do every single day- Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll- Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows- Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections- Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers- Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents- Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules
