Description
We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Unity Technical Artist in Glendale, California. The role involves working with our Interactive Experiences team where you will bridge the gap between artistic and technical aspects of game development, specifically focusing on Unity. You'll collaborate with developers to implement visually stunning and technically optimized assets and effects within our Unity experiences.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with artists and designers to integrate assets into Unity, ensuring they meet technical requirements and maintain artistic integrity
Develop custom shaders and materials to achieve desired visual effects while optimizing performance for various platforms
Implement optimization techniques to enhance performance, including LODs, texture atlasing, and shader optimization
Create and optimize particle systems for special effects such as explosions, fire, smoke, and environmental effects
Work closely with animators to implement animations and rigging within Unity, ensuring smooth transitions and efficient performance
Set up lighting within Unity scenes to achieve desired mood and atmosphere, optimizing for performance and visual quality
Provide technical support to artists and designers, troubleshooting issues related to asset integration, performance, and visual quality
Document technical processes and best practices for asset integration, shader development, and optimization within Unity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Requirements
Proficiency in software engineering and optimization techniques
Experience with Unity 3D, Shader, and EO/IR systems
Knowledge of game development, visual effects, and special effects
Ability to provide technical support and troubleshoot software issues
Familiarity with interactive design and animation
Experience in conducting gap analysis and integrating systems
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a team
Knowledge of best practices in software engineering
Experience in handling technical documentation
Ability to work with materials and ensure their quality
Experience in providing technical support to various teams
Proficiency in meeting technical requirements and standards.
