Our growing construction client is looking for a new Controller due to growth. The controller will have 5 yrs years of Construction experience preferably in a General/Specialty Contractor industry. Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills are a must. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience but is in the range of $120-140,000 base depending on experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately maintaining the accounting books for the company and works closely with the Company’s outside CPA . Key Controller Responsibilities:• Reconciling bank and credit card statements• Journal entries including posting entries and adjustments• Financial Reports – Perform month-end closing and financial reports • Reconciling sales tax account and preparing the quarterly Sales Tax return for review by the Company’s outside CPA.• Handling of Company Insurance audits – Workers Compensation/General Liability• Ensure compliance with internal controls: Payroll, HR, Sales Tax, Lien LawController Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting• Years of bookkeeping/accounting experience in the Construction Industry • Strong proficiency in construction software and MS Excel required• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook• Significant experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, sales tax, AIA billing, maintaining the general ledger
