Head Start / Early Head Start - Child Development SpecialistWe are looking for a dedicated and community minded EHS Child Development Specialist to provide high quality services to our Family Child Care Home (FCCH) Programs and service children from birth to kindergarten age. Candidates must be able to ensure all comprehensive Head Start services are integrated with the FCCH and approach the families' needs holistically ensuring full integration of health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, parent involvement and social services. Success in this role will rely heavily upon the candidate's knowledge of adult learning principles, and having or quickly developing a workable knowledge of regulatory agencies and the role they play in Head Start and Early Head Start.Responsibilities:Provide high-quality services to Family Child Care Home (FCCH) Programs, ensuring comprehensive Head Start services integration.Address the holistic needs of families, integrating health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, parent involvement, and social services.Utilize adult learning principles to facilitate effective engagement with families and caregivers.Stay informed and maintain a working knowledge of regulatory agencies impacting Head Start and Early Head Start programs.Ensure compliance with California Commission of Teachers Teacher Permit or eligibility requirements.Manage and support families by leveraging a minimum of two years of experience in state-funded childcare programs.Demonstrate strong computer skills and adaptability to evolving program requirements.Maintain reliable transportation, possess a valid California Driver’s License, and comply with health and safety requirements.Complete necessary screenings, including Live Scan, TB clearance, and required vaccinations, as per state regulations.
