Robert Benjamin Wiley Community Charter School is Hiring a Payroll and Accounting Specialist Near Erie, PA

The Robert Benjamin Wiley Community Charter School is located on the east side of the city of Erie. R.B Wiley Charter School provides quality K-8th grade education, providing the basis for students to become lifelong learners as well as moral, ethical, and compassionate people. A partnership of staff, students, parents, and the community prepares students to become responsible citizens and productive members of the communities in which they live.

Robert Benjamin Wiley Community Charter School is looking for a full-time 52-week Payroll and Accounting Specialist to perform routine accounting duties, payroll processing, time and attendance tracking, invoice control, and other finance duties assigned by the Director of Finance.

Duties:

· Processing payroll for school employees.

· Processes monthly and quarterly financial reports as assigned.

· Must be able to compose correspondence for CEO/Administration as needed.

· Enters journal entries and deposits into the QuickBooks accounting system.

· Prepares check requests and purchase orders.

· Separates and mails out all accounts payable batch checks.

· Maintains financial files for school programs.

· Records incoming checks. Prepares receipts for travel returns and all cash turned in finance.

· Sorts and distributes all incoming and outgoing paperwork.

· Prepares and monitors monthly invoices and payments. Monitors payments and notifies CEO/Director of Finance of outstanding payments.

· Monitors contracts for the Charter, purchase orders for new service contracts, audits, correspondence, and insurance coverage.

· Runs errands for the Finance Department as assigned inclusive of bank deposit run.

· Must work with outside auditors to assure proper audit trail.

· Presents monthly expense reports to the Board of Trustees.

· Schedules meetings and appointments as required.

· Operates necessary equipment.

· Order supplies for school as needed.

Qualifications:

Requires knowledge and skills in accounting field as normally acquired through the completion of a two-year associate degree and two years of related work experience.

Experience working with QuickBooks.

Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, and FBI Fingerprinting.

Education:

  • Bachelors (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Finance/Accounting: 2 years (Required)
  • QuickBooks (Required)

Work Location: In person.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
