Roastology Coffee has been roasting in Richmond since 2012. We are certified to roast organic coffee and import green beans from all over the world. We’ve recently opened our new roastery location in Scott’s Addition which will also feature a coffee bar for the neighboring residents. We have retail and commercial customers ranging from major grocery to mom & pop bakeries. We also have many private label partners and an important subscription business. We are a small passionate company who are passionate about coffee and customer experience. We are family owned and operated.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Roasting and Production Manager to oversee the production process at our coffee roastery. As the Roasting and Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and participating in all aspects of the production process, from sourcing green coffee beans to packaging the final product. You will work closely with company personnel to ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently and high quality is maintained. You will coordinate with wholesale outreach and café personnel to ensure that production meets customer requirements.

- Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet production goals and deadlines

- Ensure a consistent supply of high-quality green coffee beans by working with our green coffee suppliers

- Roast coffee, oversee the roasting process and ensure that coffee beans are roasted to perfection

- Manage inventory levels and ensure that raw materials and packaging supplies are ordered and stocked appropriately

- Monitor production efficiency and quality control measures to identify areas for improvement

- Train and supervise production staff to ensure that they are following safety protocols and production procedures

- Maintain consistency in production and quality standards throughout the team

- Knowledge of safety and quality control standards

- Implement and maintain production records and reports for performance analysis and for production reporting and auditing for our organic program and to meet FDA and other regulator requirements

- Communicate with customers via phone or email

- Prepare invoices and billings to customers and track payments

- Proven experience in production management in a coffee roastery or parallel environment

- Knowledge of and experience in coffee roasting techniques, production processes, and equipment

- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Ability to problem solve and make decisions quickly

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- We are seeking a full-time manager hands-on who will do what it takes to fulfill the production schedule, which may include the occasional weekend or shift work. We are in a growth mode and 2024/2025 will be an important year for our business.
