Dispatcher Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dispatcher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch drivers for pickup and delivery of freight
- Coordinate with customers and carriers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Monitor driver progress and provide updates to customers as needed
- Track shipments using transportation management software
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatching activities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatching or related field
- Knowledge of AS400, Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, data entry, shipping receiving, 3PL, phone systems, fleet management, and transportation management.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
