Description

• Performs routine cleaning of production areas to remove possible hazards.
• Cleans sand handling and dust collection equipment; removes collected dust and excess sand and disposes of as appropriate.
• Removes casting production scrap and takes to designated areas.
• Chips off sand line.
• Moves dirt with rake and shovel.
• Sweeps floors, walkways, and paved areas.
• Gathers nails and metal objects in walking and parking areas with a magnet.
• Cleans break rooms, restrooms, offices, and hallways areas.
• Physically moves materials from one location to another.
• Operates equipment, such as, sweeper, skid steer, fork truck, man lift, and industrial vacuum.
• Collects trash and recyclable materials and disposes of in outdoor containers for pick up.
• Maintains parking lots and grassy areas by picking up and disposing of leaves, pine straw, and trash.
• Maintains chemical containment areas; punctures aerosol cans and disposes of properly.
• Pumps chemical containment pits as needed.
• Follows lockout/tag out procedures when cleaning machinery.
• Works safely, follows the organizations safety rules and regulations, and assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Forklift license within two weeks of hire and maintain certification.

Physical Requirements:

Stands, sweeps, walks, bends, stoops, crouches, reaches, and pulls. Lifts and moves up to 40 pounds.

Foundry Environment:

Regularly exposed to humid conditions, airborne particles, extreme cold and heat. (Foundry building has overhead heaters, fans, and air socks for better working conditions).
