The Machine Operator is responsible for the daily operations of the line(s) by communicating with plant employees and ensuring the machine produces high quality products, runs smoothly, safely and at capacity, and is properly maintained.

As a Machine Operator it is critical to comprehend and understand the importance of; and follow all safety policies, protocols and procedures while working. 

• Math skills (includes calculating percentages) - ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide
• Reasoning skills - able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with a problem involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Experience using MicroSoft Office software

  • Working with Hayssen, Yomato, Triangle, or similar machine types

• Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Plant Security, Glass and Hard Plastic Procedures and OSHA Safety programs

• Accurately calculate blending percentages
• Set up, changeover and inspect production equipment for proper start up
• Assist in cleaning machinery, production area and packaging equipment to prepare for production runs
• Confirm packaging line is correctly assembled and all equipment is adjusted and functioning properly
• Completely and correctly fill out production sheets and quality sheets
• Confirm correct film, carton, box, labels, etc. are being used for the product
• Diligently check the quality of packaged product(s), as required
• Fill in where equipment has failed; until it is fixed
• Correct all equipment problems & quality issues quickly and efficiently to minimize product loss
• Quickly notify maintenance of equipment problems
• Isolate product that may cause a food safety hazard or does not meet standards; document and notify the Quality Assurance department and Production Supervisor
• Work well independently and within a team to complete projects and accomplish the goals of the department
• Interact with plant workers in a manner which fosters positivity, good teamwork and cooperation and ensures an efficient and productive operation
• Follow and ensure plant workers wear Personal Protective Equipment and follow all safety requirements procedures and protocols including OSHA
• Follow and ensure (with plant workers) Good Manufacturing Practices and keep area clean
• Follow and ensure Safety and Accident Prevention Rules
• Assist in other areas of production, warehouse and/or lab when needed

• High School or equivalent
• No wheat or gluten allergies or sensitivities
• US Citizen or Green Card holder
• Able to speak, read, write English
