POSITION SUMMARY
Provides safe, efficient, compassionate, high quality of care for patients undergoing invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in the Radiology Department. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to achieve the goals and demonstrate the values of Riverwood Healthcare Center.
This position provides care for all ages, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and older adult patients.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN preferred. Minimum three years of experience as a Registered Nurse required. Radiology experience preferred. Two years of Critical Care experience within past five years preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Current active Minnesota Registered Nurse License or temporary permit. Current certification in ACLS and PALS or earns within two months of hire.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Exercises concern for the patient’s welfare, maintains knowledge of the patient’s condition, administers medications, and performs treatment safely while demonstrating consistently high ethical standards.
• Responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients assigned to them, within nursing and radiology standards of care, and maintains accurate and complete records of nursing assessments and care.
• Remains current with professional nursing skills, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) consistently in the delivery of care.
• Demonstrates proficient IV and infusion skills and maintains competency in moderate sedation.
• Provides pre- and post-procedure assessment and care for patients scheduled for invasive radiology procedures.
• Performs duties in accordance with physician’s orders, and hospital policies, guidelines, and standards of care.
• Demonstrates patient advocacy, leadership, inter-departmental and inter-professional collaboration to achieve optimal patient care and outcomes.
• Participates in the development and evaluation of evidence-based patient care policies and procedures in radiology.
• Provides education for patients, staff and families.
• Safeguards security and confidentiality of data/information according to HIPAA and organizational guidelines.
• Assumes responsibility for self development and completion of mandatory educational requirements within defined time frames. Seeks learning opportunities to enhance skills.
• Enhances patient experience and customer service by demonstrating compassionate and respectful behavior to internal and external customers.
• Performs duties safely, including use of safety devices provided to protect self and others. Reports safety hazards as appropriate, including timely submission of incident reports for actual or near-miss events.
• Promotes service excellence by demonstrating polite, cooperative, and respectful behavior to both internal and external customers.
• Assumes responsibility for completing mandatory educational requirements.
• Safeguards security and confidentiality of data/information according to HIPAA guidelines.
• Carries out duties safely and uses safety devices provided to protect self and others. Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
