Riverview Veterinary Hospital is Hiring a Veterinarian Near Riverview, FL

Riverview Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned practice that is located 30 minutes south of Tampa, Florida. The hospital was started in a small family-owned building that had 3 exam rooms. Riverview was once a quiet town is now a growing suburb with consistent new clients.

With the abundance of new patients, Dr. Garriga relocated the hospital into 5,000 sqft building right onto 301. Our hospitals exposure is so great we are continuously growing in our new building! We have 3 full time doctors and 2 part time with a full support staff. Our director wants the opportunity to expand our services with a full-time or part-time associate veterinarian. New graduates welcomed!

Fun Fact: The hospital was opened in 1975 and was one of the first veterinary hospitals in Riverview!

Our team is looking for someone who strong interest in practicing high quality medicine and surgery, while establishing lasting relationships with our clients and their pets. At Riverview Veterinary Hospital, we offer our clients a high standard of care and believe in educating and partnering with them so they can make the best medical choices for their animals. Our veterinary staff plays an integral role in providing excellent medical care to our patients and customer service to our clients.

We offer a competitive salary with production bonus, contract payout and benefit package:

Guaranteed base salary starting between $100k-130k, plus production-based bonus.

2-4 day work week with no emergency calls.

Average 2 Saturday shifts per month.

Retirement Program 401k match up to 4% of annual salary

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $100,000.00 to > $170,000.00/year

The right individual should possess a positive, friendly attitude, a commitment to practice with competence and diligence, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members and fellow veterinarians.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
  • Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
  • Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings.
  • Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
  • Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
  • Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.

Skills

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of in which applicant is applying
  • Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude
  • The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members
  • Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets
  • Compassionate team player who can uphold great reputation with clients
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics
  • Proficiency in surgery a plus
