Description

Summary:

The Soldering Technician is responsible for performing soldering operations in the assembly and repair of electronic components and products. This role requires precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality standards and functionality of electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in soldering with a strong understanding of electronic components and assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hand soldering and rework of electronic components including through-hole, SMT (Surface Mount Technology), and fine-pitch components.
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, production orders, and follow verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Perform quality inspections on work performed, ensuring all products meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective boards or assemblies, identifying faults and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Operate and maintain soldering equipment and other machinery used in the production process.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to improve production processes and product quality.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and associated production activities.
  • Stay current with soldering techniques and industry standards by attending workshops, training sessions, and reviewing relevant publications.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a soldering technician or similar role in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in soldering techniques and understanding of electronic components and circuitry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as assembly instructions, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards is a plus.
