Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our properties. The associate property manager supports the property manager with tenant relations, property maintenance, compliance and inspections, and marketing, while providing exceptional customer service to our tenants.

Duties:

• Compliance with all rental and use related regulations, licensing and permitting, including rental registrations, U&O, lead compliance.
• Verification of tenant lease compliance, including maintenance responsibilities and rental insurance coverage.
• Assist with management, oversight and QC checking of maintenance vendors.
• Assist with maintenance of properties to the highest level of condition, habitability, safety and enjoyment for tenants.
• Assist with community relations; open line to neighbors to hear ideas and concerns; allocation of time, attention and resources to help with community issues, activities and events.

Requirements:

• Experience in real estate transactions and agency, and property management.
• Experience in tenant relations.
• Experience in housing justice, in particular, inviting the homeless or the marginalized into tenancy in partnership with programmatic support; similarly, seeking to support rather than evict tenants in crisis.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, e.g., basic competency with spreadsheets, Google apps, PDFs, emails and attachments, and ability to interact with databases & use industry specific apps (property management/portfolio management)

Skills and/or experience that are preferred but not necessary

• Experience with the non-profit, cooperative or social enterprise sector, in particular Housing Justice, Economic Democracy, or Employment Social Enterprise; experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment and wealth-building.
• Experience in or knowledge of building maintenance and/or construction.
• Some digital photography skills

Commitment

• Position is currently part-time, 12-16 hours per week, with expectation to grow to full-time in 12-24 months
• Requirement to be on duty Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10AM - 2PM
• Extensive training, including a path toward real estate transaction and asset management
