Develop and maintain a multi-campus system for the identification of accessibility non-compliance systems and websites for system and content owner remediation.
Develop guidelines or templates for content owners and developers ensuring content compliance with the latest version of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, procurement, and technical stakeholders to ensure accessibility consideration are adequately addressed in contract negotiations and vendor selection processes.
Perform reviews of vendor products utilizing VPATs or similar documentation to determine their compliance with accessibility standards, such as WCAG 2.1 or Section 508.
Develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases that record digital content audits and accessibility solutions and track timelines of deliverables.
May supervise, hire, train, and direct college employees who convert instructional materials into accessible formats.
Serve as a subject matter expert on digital accessibility, researching with the latest industry trends, best practices and legal requirements.
Conduct regular audits and assessments of digital content including websites, applications, and other digital assets, as needed to identify gaps and barriers, and oversee the implementation of necessary improvement to ensure compliance with institutional policies, and federal and state laws.
Record, communicate, and monitor gaps and barriers identified during regular audits and assessments of digital content to respective content owners.
Regularly follow up with content owners on remediation actions taken on the identified digital platform ensuring compliance with institutional policies and federal and state laws.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness and enhance the understanding of digital accessibility principles and techniques among faculty and staff.
Provide expertise and experience in digital accessible instructional materials and media by advising, consulting, and collaborating with faculty, and staff across campuses.
Provide guidance and support to internal teams on designing, developing, and testing accessible digital products and features.
Attend campus committee meetings relevant to position.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or other technology related field required
4 years experience using accessible/assistive devices, software, apps, on-line services, and web/mobile applications, assistive listening devices, and creating electronic text and alternative formats including optical character recognition to convert to various formats; including 2 years experience using automated accessibility testing tools and interpreting/prioritizing results required
