Impact Evaluation and Data Specialist

Reports to: Director of Development

Supervises: N/A

Status: Full time; Non-Exempt

Organization Overview:

Family Nurturing Center of MA provides family strengthening, parenting education, and early childhood development programming in historically marginalized neighborhoods throughout the City of Boston, and training for family service providers across the Commonwealth. FNC’s 60-person team represents the communities we serve; 30% of us are graduates of an FNC program. Our approach is rooted in racial and social justice and we approach families with respect and nurturing joy.

Position Overview:

The Data and Impact Evaluation Specialist acts as the primary administrator of Family Nurturing Center’s in-house database, which houses both programmatic and development data. The position is responsible for developing data entry protocols, providing training and support to staff, and ensuring the collection of high-quality data across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Development and working in close collaboration with the program leadership team, the position regularly pulls and analyzes data and produces reports for a wide range of internal and external audiences.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Database Administration and Maintenance

· Act as primary point of contact with staff who are experiencing Salesforce issues or challenges; create and de-activate accounts, as needed

· Develop and implement data governance and data hygiene processes in partnership with relevant staff

· Act as FNC’s point of contact with Salesforce and Salesforce consultants to troubleshoot challenges and make systems improvements on a regular basis

· Develop new tools (surveys, data entry fields, etc.) in partnership with relevant staff and build them within the database.

· Conduct routine data quality control measures.

Development:

· Partner with Development team to ensure that all pledges, gifts, and donor relations data is captured in Salesforce

· Analyze development data and produce reports for the Board, Executive Director, and Development team in order to recognize and act on trends in fundraising.

· Produce dashboards and other data visualizations to represent trends.

Programs:

· Support the design of and implement FNC’s programmatic evaluation strategy

· Support training and technical assistance for staff in the use of data collection tools and processes to ensure successful integration.

· Analyze trends in program data to support continuous improvement, including longitudinal analysis

· Leverage compelling data and stories for marketing, fundraising, and donor acquisition.

· Develop dashboards and other creative data visualizations

· Produce regular enrollment and outcome reports; support the production of FNC’s Annual Report, inclusive of high-quality data; and produce/support all other reports/presentations as requested.

· When relevant, participate in partnerships with universities and other research institutions that are mutually beneficial to FNC.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

· BA in relevant field (statistics, economics, sociology, etc.) or lived experience equivalent to a degree.

· Strong quantitative analysis skills

· Very well organized; able to manage competing deadlines

· Strong communication skills; able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

· Self-directed and creative; willingness to research, develop and implement new practices and systems

· Prior experience with database administration (Salesforce or another platform);  experience utilizing Salesforce preferred

· Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; proven ability to learn new software and platforms and support others in their use.

· High level of maturity and discretion in working with confidential information

· Interest in and commitment to FNC’s mission

· Proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 is a prerequisite for employment with Family Nurturing Center of MA.

Compensation: the salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience in database administration and data analysis.
