Job Title : Professional Survey and Mapper
Salary Range : $85 - $135k DOE
Location : Miami, FL
Overview :
The Professional Land Surveyor will be responsible for mentoring and coaching survey staff, conducting boundary determination, pricing / scoping, ensuring quality assurance and control of surveying procedures, fostering active communication with team members, and managing crew scheduling.
The role requires foundational knowledge of topographic, control / geodetic, construction staking, boundary / ROW determination, and ALTA surveying.
Responsibilities :
Conducts analysis for difficult / complex boundary surveys and prepares associated plats and boundary descriptions.
Performs advanced calculations involving field survey data.
Assists in the preparation of right-of-way plans and conducts QA / QC on said plans.
Prepares or reviews survey reports and legal descriptions.
Prepares scopes of work and estimates for survey projects.
Collaborates with the survey Team Leader to conduct a professional review of project deliverables.
Develops project quality control and quality assurance processes.
Provides technical expertise and leadership in project definition and planning phases.
Acts as a subject matter expert and represents the firm at various functions, as needed.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper License required.
Proficiency in mathematical concepts appropriate for surveying (survey data reduction including level data, traverse data, and GNSS data).
Ability to occasionally travel overnight and work overtime as needed.
Above-average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
Highly desirable experience with Trimble Business Center.
AutoCAD experience is a plus.
GIS-related experience is a plus.
Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, offering constructive feedback and direction to support goals.
