Description:

• Work as a team member in the Product Engineering department that provides technical support to over 65 precast concrete manufacturing plants across the US.
• Design engineered concrete products, including precast concrete structures, concrete pipe, manholes, and other concrete items according to specifications.
• Prepare fabrication drawings and structural calculations, product estimating, and shop drawing creation and review.
• Work closely with contractors, government agency representatives, general manager, sales team, and operations manager.
• Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.

Requirements:

• Education/Experience: B.S. in Civil Engineering;
• P.E. or ability to obtain P.E. within a few years of hire date is a plus.
• Prior experience with precast concrete structures, state DOT projects, or water/wastewater treatment projects is a plus.
• Prior experience in reinforced concrete design and structural engineering are a plus.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel.
• Must be comfortable and able to perform the duties of this position effectively in a fast-paced, ever changing business environment with ongoing, and often competing, project deadlines.
• Ability to independently manage projects, gathering all information, materials and authorizations.
• Exhibit attention to detail and a passion for solving problems; anticipating and preventing errors.
• Must work and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals from executives to production employees in order to gather information and authorizations critical to the success of the work process.
• Provide mature and balanced decisions in an effort to prioritize between production demands, engineering projects and special assignments.
• Have proven track record of excellence in organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing tasks and project priorities effectively.
• Strong work ethic and ability to positively influence others, coupled with an optimistic attitude and commitment to get the job done on time and to specifications every time.
