RIM Recruitment Professionals is Hiring a Traveling Assistant Superintendent (AZ/CA) Near Scottsdale, AZ

A Scottsdale-based construction company, who specializes in affordable multifamily housing, is seeking a traveling Assistant Superintendent to help oversee construction projects in LA and the Bay Area in California. Projects will range from 9-12 months. The position is based in Scottsdale, however, the Assistant Superintendent will be required to be on-site in CA throughout the week and will have every other weekend off to return to AZ.
Responsibilities:
  • Help locate and assess subcontractors for the assigned job.
  • Monitor subcontractors’ performance and intervene when performance falls below an acceptable level.
  • Develop strategies for motivating subcontractors to provide above-average performance.
  • Develop metrics and time restraints for subcontractors’ performance in all categories.
  • Help build and establish a good relationship between management, owners, and subcontractors of company.
  • Coordinate all efforts and procedures with the Project Management Team.
  • Maintain, report, and record all job expenditures utilizing company standard cost codes. Ascertain approval for all expenditures through the company’s corporate office.
  • Record and ensure that the scope of work is being completed on time, with good quality, and properly completed.
  • Monitor and enforce all safety standards and rules that have been established for each job site. Maintain all safety records including but not limited to Safety Checklists, Incident Reports, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), OSHA Inspections, and all other information that pertains to the safety of the job site. Ensure the job site is clean and safe by completing a construction safety checklist daily.
  • Establish and nurture the client/company relationship.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Project Manager and the Superintendent.

Skills and Special Requirements/Licensing:

  • Maintain OSHA 10 Safety Certification.
  • Experience working with occupied renovation projects.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook), Viewpoint (or equal), Visio, and AIA.
  • Pre-employment background screening including previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving record.

    • Hours may be flexible as workloads dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays.
    • Position will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to the Client’s office, potential project, and construction job sites.
    • Conditions/locations will vary but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
    Salary
    • $55,000-$85,000 DOE plus company benefits and travel expenses
