The Registered Nurse/RN/Nurse on Staff performs various activities for supervision of Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) regarding proper training, appropriate scheduling of client care, maintenance of client records and employee records, and other office coordination duties. This position primarily focuses on the training and development of newly hired caregivers.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

• Supervises all activities and staff related to nursing
• Assists with Human Resources to recruit, hire, orient and provide ongoing in-services and education for all field staff
• Orients newly hired nursing staff on the fundamental skills needed for home health education programs following the AHCA Written and Practical Competency Tests
• Ensures compliance with company policy and all federal, state, and local regulating bodies and conditions of participation
• Perform client plan of care audits, assessments, supervisory visits, and discharges on occasion

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

• Remains informed and updated on home health regulations and standards
• Develops, implements, reviews and revises policies and procedures to guide care delivery
• Perform other such tasks and assignments as directed by management/leadership of organization
• Other general office and clerical duties
• Other duties assigned by upper management

EDUCATION/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Registered nurse licensure in the State of FL
• One year of work experience in Home Health Care
• CPR, driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle; other trainings/certificates as required per state regulations
• Clerical and clinical skills (gait belt, Hoyer lift, basic office equipment such as printers and copy machines, etc.)
• Command of the English language (able to read, write, and speak)
• Successful passage of state, county, and federal background screenings
• Ability to make recommendations to address and resolve issues
• Ability to make presentations to internal and external staff
• Ability to effectively deal with diverse groups and individuals and to maintain working relationships
• Organizational skills to set workload and priorities
• Proficiency in preparing and proofreading correspondence and forms, and developing office policies and procedures
• Knowledge and skill in records administration and maintenance
• Works primarily out of the local office
