Riggs Ambulance Service is Hiring an Operations Administrative Supervisor Near Merced, CA

Position Title:Operations Administrative Supervisor

Department: Operations

Reports to:Executive Director

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: A self-starter requiring no oversight and the ability to make critical decisions based upon objective findings. Able to handle customer and employee complaints using established guidelines and common sense. The applicant must possess excellent written, verbal, and communication skills. Administrative Supervisor must be adaptable to a variety of working conditions and situations and must have an intimate knowledge of company policy and procedures, as well as local and state regulations that govern EMS. Three (3) years of field ambulance service and management experience preferred.

PHYSICAL EFFORT/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • At minimum the same as an EMT.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

  • Starting Annual salary $45,000 - $54,450 DOE

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

This is a non-exempt supervisory level position in the operations section of
Riggs. This position makes supervisory level decisions including policy and procedure development and interpretation, disciplinary and staffing/scheduling decisions. This position focuses primarily on ground operations and works with the operations team on the overall goals of the organization. Within this general framework, this position is accountable for the following functions:

  • Oversee the operation’s staffing schedule in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Minimizes lost unit hours by continuously monitoring the schedule.
  • Work in collaboration with the Scheduling Specialists, Operations Supervisors and Leadership to correct scheduling issues and/or concerns.
  • Provides coverage for the Scheduling Specialists.
  • Ensures peak system performance by continuously monitoring the system and taking aggressive actions, when necessary, to insure system integrity as well as monitor compliance and workload.
  • Responsible for all absence and tardy tracking.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to crewmembers.
  • Responsible for tracking down missing PCR’s
  • Investigate all injuries, accidents and exposures as assigned during assigned work hours.
  • May be responsible for low level disciplinary actions as well as follow up and loop closure for occurrence reports.
  • Assist with ensuring all employees with certifications are up to date and eligible to work in the system.
  • Provide administrative duties for Health EMS, Fleeteyes, Airvange/Vehicle Modem, and Team Support
  • Available to surge in the EMS system as necessary during assigned work hours. Continuously improve EMS leadership skills by reading books and periodicals, and by attending classes, meetings and seminars.

  • Provides a catalyst for absolute professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and competency with patients, their families, the public, other agencies, coworkers and Riggs management.

  • Manage via the philosophies and culture of Riggs, supporting exceptional clinical performance, customer service, diversity, and innovation.
  • Work in collaboration with Riggs Leadership in achieving the overall mission and goals of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Computer system and software specific to assigned responsibilities and functional area including but not limited to MS Word, MW Excel, MS Access.
  • Experience with statistical and administrative data collection and report preparation.
  • Analyze information/situations, project consequences of proposed actions, formulate alternative solutions and make appropriate responses or recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to Multi-task, prioritizes, and organizes workload for successful completion.
  • Communicate effectively in a clear, concise manner, both orally and in writing.
  • Handle frequent interruptions and stressful situations in a professional manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO PATIENT PRIVACY

  • The incumbent is expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the Riggs privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal [and state] law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider. Failure to comply with the Company’s policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or of membership or association with Regional Ambulance Services, Inc.
  • The incumbent may access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment, or other company operations.
  • The incumbent is encouraged and expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding the Riggs policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of that policy to the designated Compliance Officer.
  • The incumbent is expected to actively participate in patient privacy training and is required to communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients, and others in accordance with Riggs’s policies and procedures.
