We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Chemical Dependency Counselor!
The Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for providing direct patient care, in compliance with The Joint Commission and CMS standards of care and for patients under circumstances of chemical dependency, substance abuse or addictions.
Ridgeview Institute has been a staple in the state of Georgia and nationwide for the treatment of both addiction and behavioral health for over 40 years. We provide a comprehensive continuum of mental health and substance abuse treatment services based upon a commitment to excellence and quality care to patients and their loved ones.
Located on a 37-acre wooded campus in the city of Smyrna, GA on the outskirts of Atlanta, Ridgeview Institute provides a safe, caring environment with Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Counselors, Activity Therapists and Mental Health Technicians. Treatment services include inpatient and outpatient services and aftercare.

Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
Experience: Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs and substance abuse,
License: Must be in process of obtaining substance abuse license/certificate as dictated by the State of Georgia or equivalent, also Master’s License in Social Work or Counseling preferred
Additional Requirements: CPR/First Aid and CPI Training. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
