Richmond Professional Lab is a commercial photofinishing lab located at 7545 Midlothian Turnpike. We edit, print, and ship photo-related orders for over 3000 professional photography studios operating in all 50 states. We maintain a broad product line, which includes small and large format photographic prints, canvas wraps, vinyl banners, t-shirts, holiday cards, ornaments, and mugs. WE ARE SEEKING TO FILL A MANAGER POSITION WITHIN OUR FULL-SERVICE DEPARTMENT:
We are looking for an experienced Photo Lab Manager to oversee the overall successful functionality of the Full-Service Department. We work in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about finding ideal candidates to help our organization succeed. Our goal is to create a motivated and positive workspace with associates who are eager to learn and grow. We maintain a staff of just over 100 permanent associates, plus 200 seasonal associates depending on the time of year. Our business is highly cyclical, with two busy seasons per year – spring and fall. This position will lead the Full-Service team and serve as the primary resource for the Full-Service Department. The Full-Service Manager will become knowledgeable in all facets of the organization, with a strong focus on developing workflows and analyzing daily metrics to maximize the efficiency and accuracy of the Full-Service Department. The Full-Service Manager will strongly focus on employee training, delegating tasks and requirements, and increasing overall customer satisfaction.
The Full-Service Manager will report to the Operations Manager and provide insight into the success and functionality of the Full-Service Department. Our ideal candidate will have a drive to meet and exceed all presented standards, a passion to coach and develop the team to provide exemplary service to clients, and communicate with all parties (both internal and external) to put the organization in the best possible position for success. This position requires a high level of organization, a strong sense of motivation, and successful experience working with building and maintaining positive customer relationships. Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the standard operating procedures for the department.
  • Evaluate independent workflows for ease of use and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot software issues to resolve interdepartmental challenges.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and oversee operations of the Full-Service Department by monitoring daily volume and delegating tasks to ensure jobs are completed on time and with low error rate.
  • Provide regular training for staff and customers.
  • Coach associates and provide specific recommendations to meet their professional goals.
  • Maintain client/customer relationships by providing fast, accurate responses to customer calls and emails.
  • Handle productivity or staffing concerns through effective channels, i.e., Operational Management or the HR Department.
  • Learn and understand lab procedures and schedules.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all types of people, quickly assessing professional capabilities and strengths.
  • Must be flexible, innovative, and comfortable in setting own priorities.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
