Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Room team. As an ER Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients in emergency situations. This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where critical thinking and quick decision-making are essential.
Duties:
- Assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on the severity of their condition
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by physicians
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families
- Perform emergency procedures such as airway management, cardiac catheterization, and catheter care
- Utilize electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic) to accurately document patient information
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency nursing standards and best practices
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an emergency room setting preferred
- Experience in pediatric emergency care, ophthalmology, behavioral health, or occupational health is a plus
Skills:
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Proficient in airway management techniques
- Knowledge of utilization management principles
- Familiarity with emergency nursing standards and protocols
