As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced VP of Strategy to lead and shape the strategic initiatives of our portfolio companies.
The VP of Strategy will serve RevRoad portfolio companies in a variety of functions during their progress through validation, traction, and growth stages. This position is a key member of the Strategy team, reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Performance will be measured by the ultimate value provided to portfolio companies that leads to increased enterprise valuation of the RevRoad portfolio. Compensation is dependent on experience and capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitate the creation of a Dynamic Strategic Plan for each portfolio company that will serve as a roadmap for the company’s overall strategic direction
Act as Account Manager to onboard new portfolio companies and integrate them with various RevRoad services to facilitate execution of the Dynamic Strategic Plan
Offer general business consulting and management training to founders and executive teams of portfolio companies
Assist in the creation of curriculum, content, and tools for an evolving strategy service offering
Contribute to high-level brainstorming and critical thinking processes
Continuously monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify opportunities and threats
Identify and evaluate potential partnerships, investments, and acquisition opportunities
Identify and mitigate risks that could impact the success of portfolio companies
Assist founders in establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of strategic initiatives
Execute ad hoc projects as requested by portfolio companies and CSO
Work cross-functionally with other RevRoad departments to provide a seamless integration with other services
Be continuously available to assist portfolio companies in urgent need
Perform other duties as assigned

Experience in business management and business strategy, preferably within a startup environment

Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring they are completed on time and within defined scopes
A deep understanding of financial concepts and the ability to use financial data to drive strategic decision-making
Preferred Competencies
Experience as a startup founder/CEO, with additional preference given for serial entrepreneurs
Strong network in the startup ecosystem
A Master's degree in business administration or a related field
Product Management experience
Experience in crisis management, meeting facilitation, conflict resolution, personal coaching/counseling, or mentoring
Knowledge of M&A processes and experience in managing acquisition strategies
Venture capital experience, including understanding of venture capital investments and portfolio management.
