Role Summary:

As a Mental Health and Substance Use Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, client/patient-centered therapy in an outpatient setting. You will work with individuals and families struggling with mental health and substance use concerns, offering support, guidance, and evidence-based interventions to promote recovery and well-being.

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health and substance use concerns to create personalized treatment plans.
  • Therapeutic Services: Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and more.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with clients to develop treatment goals and plans, regularly reviewing and adjusting them as needed.
  • Client Engagement: Build a strong therapeutic alliance with clients to facilitate engagement and motivation for treatment.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute mental health or substance use issues.
  • Education and Support: Educate clients and their families about mental health and addiction, coping strategies, and relapse prevention.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, treatment notes, and progress reports in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the treatment team, including psychiatrists, case managers, and support staff, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Ethical Standards: Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • State licensure as a Mental Health Counselor, License Professional Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, or Psychologist, or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience in providing outpatient therapy for mental health and substance use.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities and strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a commitment to client/patient-centered care.
