About the Position

The Therapist reports directly to the Director of Client Services. The Therapist will provide trauma-informed counseling to survivors of human trafficking and will carry a caseload of up to 10 clients. The Therapist will be a part of a team committed to the restoration journey for each client. The ideal candidate for this role has experience in providing trauma-focused counseling and working with individuals with trauma, as well as holding a clinical license and can practice in New York state. 

This is a contract position beginning immediately and is hybrid with the main office located in New York City. Schedules can be flexible and will be worked out based on the clients’ preference. Current contract will be finished by the end of September 2024 with the possibility of renewal. 

Specific Responsibilities

• Provide individual trauma-informed psychotherapy, including applying Restore’s 12-week stabilization curriculum and long-term individual counseling
• Maintain timely and organized documentation, progress notes, treatment plans and timesheets
• Establish open lines of communication with the Client Services team
• Practice trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically sensitive, survivor-centered practices in all interactions with clients, staff, service provider organizations, and other stakeholders
• Attend regular touch-base meetings with the supervisor
• Ensure adherence to HIPPA requirements as well as APA, ACA, and NASW ethical guidelines

Requirements

• A psychotherapy license in the State of New York, such as LCSW, LMHC and LMFT
• Proficiency in trauma-informed care
• Familiarity and utilization of a range of psychotherapy approaches (ex. CBT, IFS, ACT, DBT, EMDR)
• Spanish fluency
• Experience providing counseling with individuals impacted by trauma and working with immigrant women and/or at-risk populations
• Strong clinical skills (e.g., conceptualization, goal setting, identifying the most effective treatment modality)
• Demonstrated record of establishing rapport with clients
• Deep commitment to the healing and wellbeing of survivors of trafficking

Compensation

The therapist will be paid $75 per hour. 

Job Location

This job is based in New York City with a combination of virtual and in-person sessions based on the clients’ preference.
