Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Mortgage Processor to join our team. As a Mortgage Processor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of mortgage applications. You will work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers to gather necessary documentation, verify information, and facilitate the loan approval process.
Duties
- Review mortgage applications and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy
- Verify borrower information, including employment history, income, assets, and credit history
- Calculate debt-to-income ratios and other financial ratios
- Prepare loan files for underwriting review
- Communicate with borrowers to request additional documentation or clarify information
- Coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to ensure timely processing of loans
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of all loan transactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in finance or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Mortgage Processor or in a similar role within the financial services industry
- Knowledge of loan origination processes and procedures
- Familiarity with TILA (Truth in Lending Act) regulations and Fair Housing regulations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform credit analysis and financial calculations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in basic math calculations
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
