Job Description: RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting and services company, seeks an experienced Professional Project Manager to join our Kentucky or West Virginia office. The primary activity of the RESPEC’s Mining & Energy Unit is developing and implementing technical solutions to meet our Mining and Energy client-partners’ needs.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager include the following:

• Managing portfolio of Abandoned Mine Land and reclamation projects
• Directing technical team for engineering and design
• Coordinating with project leads for resource allocation
• Performing to coordinate resource allocation
• Developing technical teams competency
• Overseeing, and assuring the quality of all deliverable compliance to RESPEC best practice and clients’ standards
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients
• Conducting business development and marketing activities.

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in civil, environmental, or mining engineering
• A minimum of 20 years of related experience
• Professional Engineer registration or the ability to obtain a license soon after employment
• Extensive project and team management, and contract administration experience and track record in civil, environmental or reclamation projects are mandatory
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Extensive experience in commercial civil or mining software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Carlson Civil Suite, HEC-RAS, HMS, TR55, Geo-Studio, or similar software) and GIS-based software
• Previous experience in operational, consulting, or engineering services in mining engineering or related industries
• Excellent interpersonal and effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: In additional to the required qualifications, the following education and skills are preferred:

• Advanced degrees (i.e., Master of Science or doctorate) in civil, environmental, or mining engineering or business administration
• High technical competency and prior experience in Abandoned Mine Land or reclamation projects in the Appalachia region
• Strong desire and experience in team building and talent development
• Robust business development and marketing experience in consulting environment.

 Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Frequent travel may be required
• Outdoor/Indoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures.
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time for field investigation and site inspections
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds.

Compensation: Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
