Summary

Sun and Ski Sports is currently searching for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager. In this role, you will process invoices and related transactions ensuring that vouchers are properly authorized, adequately documented, and paid in accordance with corporate policy and procedure. Your attention to detail, strong interpersonal communication skills, and experience in helping identify ways to improve processes are important to us.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for Accounts Payable related document preparation; identify appropriate vendor, validate authenticity of charge and approval, identify appropriate cost center and general ledger account.
• Manages A/P including customer vendor relations and the A/P check disbursements, 1099 and tax related matters.
• Manages accounting functions, relating to Accounts Payable, including maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable and project accounting; ensures accuracy and timeliness.
• Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines. This involves understanding requirements, gathering and analyzing data, identifying process gaps, redesigning and documenting processes, and implementing appropriate controls.
• Assists in monthly closing of financial records, posting of month end information, and accruals.
• Maintains vendor information to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
• Provides assistance to Buyers and Distribution Center staff; responding to questions/concerns to meet business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of seven years accounts payable with two years supervisory experience.
• Must have large A/P system experience.
• Strong computer and data entry skills; functional knowledge of accounting, spreadsheets and word processing software a must.
• Must have working knowledge of Excel. AS/400, Island Pacific, Word, and Outlook tools a PLUS.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with vendors, buyers and store management.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills; attention to detail a must.
• Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Local candidates preferred. No relocation assistance provided.

Pay: $48,299.96 - $58,167.69 per year
