Resource-Trac is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near Granville, OH

Education requirement: Bachelors or Associates Degree in science or engineering preferred.
Years of Experience: >1 year in test lab preferred
Required/Preferred Certifications:

  • Must be comfortable using a computer. A working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) required.
  • Knowledge of laboratory practices and >1 year experience in R&D lab preferred. Prior laboratory experience in ASTM mechanical testing and technical documentation would be very helpful.

The Roofing Components R&D Center includes a Product Testing Laboratory that is responsible for performance testing of and competitive materials and a Pilot Line that runs prototyping trials. This supports the manufacturing plants and new product development activities of the Roofing Components Business.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will provide support to several high-volume functional areas within our Test Lab. This work will include:

  • Primary role will be to conduct sample preparation and testing to support the Product Testing Laboratory. This includes, but is not limited to movement of rolled roofing products from storage to test area, cutting and preparing samples, conducting testing, recording results in excel files, and communicating with lab customers to clarify needs and report results.
  • Will work closely with lab lead to meet customer expectations for quality, turn-around time, communication of testing status, and achievement of overall lab outcomes.
  • Will assist with maintenance and operation of pilot equipment so they should feel comfortable learning and running extrusion processes. Basic mechanical skills are preferred.
  • Lifting and standing for long periods of time will be required; worker must be able to repetitively lift objects up to 35 lbs and stand for a large portion of the day. Steel toed shoes, safety glasses, long sleeves, long pants, bump cap, cut-resistant gloves (sometimes), and CDC approved face mask (during covid) will be required.

Education requirements:

  • Previous forklift experience is a plus.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
