We seek a high-impact, innovative Senior Space Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide operational research and capabilities development related to space operations and planning in support of U.S Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) at Camp H.M. Smith, HI. You would be an excellent candidate for this position if you enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, work independently or with a group to achieve objectives successfully, have the experience and knowledge to support Joint Space Operations that will ensure freedom of action and mission assurance in all domains throughout the Indo-Pacific. 

This position requires a current active US Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (Top Secret/SCI preferred).

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Assist with senior-level strategic planning and briefings, including preparing formal papers and background information for USINDOPACOM senior leader consumption.
  • Provide research and analysis of various space-related national security policies, military strategies, and capability integration that support USINDOPACOM operations and exercises. 
  • Identify operational areas of convergence with Space Command and enable coordination across multiple stakeholders. The ever-increasing demands associated with a congested and contested space environment require strategic and operational partners properly postured to meet mission-critical requirements. 
  • This position will support innovative approaches to integrate capabilities closely coordinated with Service Components, research labs, industry, OSD, and Joint Staff. 
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
  • Possess an Active Top Secret (TS) US Government Clearance
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree. 
  • At least 10 years of combined experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • At least two years of experience at a Combatant Command or Service Component HQ
  • Experience with space operations. 
  • Experience in writing reports, graphics, and information papers. 
  • Experience analyzing operational data 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and SharePoint collaborative tools.
EVEN BETTER
  • Possess a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) US Government Clearance.
  • Possess a Master's Degree and/or attendance at Service Command and General Staff College.
  • Three years experience in the Indo-Pacific Area of Operations (AOR). 
  • Familiarity with the INDOPACOM Theater Campaign Plan (TCP), Deliberate and Crisis Action Plans, and Operations Plans (OPLANS). 
  • Experience coordinating with other Department of Defense (DoD) entities, including the Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and INDOPACOM's Service Components, as well as non-DoD organizations
