Rescue Mission of Trenton is Hiring a Chief Operations Officer (Trenton, NJ) Near Trenton, NJ

Education: Master’s Degree required.Experience:  Ten (10) years of experience in facilities operation, warehousing, maintenance or other related area. Five (5) years of experience in Project Management. Ten plus (10 ) years of overall professional experience, with a significant track record managing a high-quality child/family-focused portfolio of direct service programs.Skills and Abilities: Management and organizational leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to enable effective decision-making, results oriented and clarity in a fast-moving environment. Ability to analyze operational performance to set clear priorities, delegate and guide people, program, and systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A highly effective and collaborative team leader who supports a positive performance culture through personal characteristics including: integrity, optimism, and high energy.Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license.Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees and ensures the development, implementation and enforcement of all Rescue Mission policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the determination of staffing issues including, but not limited to, job descriptions, assessment of staff performance, employment and termination recommendations.
  • Oversees all facility operations and facility maintenance.
  • Ensures that all personnel are assigned responsibilities based upon education, training, competencies, and job descriptions.
  • Represents the Rescue Mission in conducting business with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Attends and conducts meetings as required.
  • Serves on-call for all facility emergencies and first responder for all facility alarms.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the agency.
  • Responsible for achieving revenue, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
  • Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the agency.
  • Contribute to the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; attract, recruit, and retain required members of the executive team not currently in place; provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and strengthen internal communications with staff.
  • Promotes a multi-cultural work environment that supports program consistency, best practices, and inclusion.
  • Strategically tracks trends and identifies opportunities that promote programmatic growth and innovation.
  • Provides thought leadership on measurement, evaluation, and innovation, ensuring the organization is developing and communicating.
  • Models and reinforces effective decision-making processes and uses data as a management tool to assess impact on programmatic services and how the organization is progressing toward its goal; refine and adjust program models, and interdependencies, accordingly.
  • Recruits and mentors high impact teams; personally, drives and instills a high-performing and empowered culture.
  • Maintains Risk Management policies and ensures adherence
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position: Onsite 
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8a-4p with flexibility
Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000
