UIC is Hiring a HB Global Transplant Manager Near Chicago, IL

Position Summary

The Business Administrative Associate (HB Global Transplant Manager) is responsible for the billing, collection and payment of all global transplant accounts and related visits. This position is also responsible for the billing and collection of all non-government HB transplant event accounts. This position acts a liaison between the transplant department, University of Illinois Physician Group (UICPG), and any other hospital department as needed.

Provides supervisory oversight and instructions to staff. Using the Epic Revenue Cycle system, continually evaluate KPIs as well as automation opportunities for efficient timely billing, collections and evaluation of reimbursement for the Transplant business line in accordance with payer contracts and government regulations, including supporting the inputs for the annual submission of the Medicare cost reports
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages Transplant Billing, Follow-up and denial processes
  • Monitors and manages transplant event service billings as well as package billings and collections
  • Maintains timely notification, collection, and bundle submission for global transplant claims
  • Compile and reconcile both hospital and physician claims for global contracts
  • Ensures timely resolution and escalation with payers, working collaboratively to organize administrative and clinical payer appeals, and in receiving timely payments
  • Timely and accurate global case rate transfers to the UIC Physician Group. Responsible for the calculation of hospital/physician case rate split as per administrative policy or agreement
  • Manages the HB Gift of Hope Process
  • Evaluates and modifies procedures as necessary to optimize performance
  • Evaluates and monitors staff performance using Epic Revenue Cycle system and quality reviews
  • Acts as a point of escalation for payment issues for staff, Dir. of Revenue Recovery or PA department
  • Compile monthly reports of outstanding transplant status and payments
  • Monitors and follows up on claims not paid in a timely manner
  • Monitors the HB Transplant Acquisition CLIENT accounts for errors and outstanding balances
  • May collaborate with the Revenue Recovery unit for underpayment projects or payer billing issues
  • Integrates new industry transplant requirements into related processes to ensure compliance. Educates staff on application and execution.
  • Provide feedback when requested to Finance, Transplant, or any other Revenue Cycle entity.
