Summary:

At Renu Energy Solutions, the Warehouse Specialist plays a vital role in managing various tasks within the warehouse environment to ensure smooth operations. They oversee inventory, organize storage space, handle shipments, and ensure safety compliance, crucial for keeping the warehouse running efficiently. Overall, they maintain the smooth functioning of our warehouse, from receiving goods to fulfilling orders, while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.

This position is a full-time, onsite position located in Columbia, SC. This may include some local travel. 

Reports to the Warehouse Manager

Requirements

Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, tracking stock movements, conducting regular stock counts, and ensuring optimal stock levels to meet demand.

Receiving and Dispatching: Receiving incoming shipments, inspecting goods for damage or defects, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and preparing goods for storage. They also organize the dispatch of outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Storage and Organization: Organizing warehouse space efficiently to maximize storage capacity and accessibility. This includes categorizing items, labeling shelves, and implementing systems for easy retrieval.

Quality Control: Inspecting goods for quality and adherence to specifications. They may conduct quality checks at various stages, including upon receipt, during storage, and before dispatch.

Picking and Packing: Fulfilling orders by selecting the correct items from inventory, packing them securely, and preparing them for shipment. This involves attention to detail to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.

Shipping and Receiving Documentation: Generating and maintaining accurate documentation related to shipments, including packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels. They may also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for handling hazardous materials or international shipments.

Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc, to ensure they remain in good working condition. They may also coordinate repairs and replacements as needed.

Safety and Compliance: Enforcing safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse. This includes training staff on proper lifting techniques, handling hazardous materials safely, and using personal protective equipment. Warehouse specialists also ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as OSHA standards.

Communication and Coordination: Collaborating with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations. They may communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues, and address inquiries.

Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. This may involve implementing new technologies, optimizing workflows, or revising operating procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1 years of previous warehouse, electrical and/or solar experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items safely (50lbs)
  • Basic computer skills helpful for inventory software
  • Forklift experience is a must, Forklift certified is preferred
  • Must have valid Drivers license
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
