Maintenance Technician:

We are on the hunt for a talented and reliable maintenance technician to join our maintenance department. In this position, your chief responsibility is to preserve the excellent condition and functionality of our business equipment and premises.
Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with an in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances. To excel in the position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills. This position will have a fair amount of autonomy, and their job will look different day to day.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance. Common machines at Smith Filter include expanders, roll formers, brake press, shear, and other industrial equipment.
•  Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
•  Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation. Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
•  Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
•  Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
•  Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
•  Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
•  Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
•  Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
• Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment
• Capable of operating hand, power, and specialized tools
• In-depth knowledge of system maintenance
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment. Able to list and carry up to 50lbs
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
• Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision
• High school diploma or GED
• Advanced technical or college training preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Experience level:

• 3 years of maintenance experience, preferred.

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
