Industrial Engineer:

Smith Filter is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, costing, and time studies, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications. The successful candidate should be adept at promoting a culture of safety in a manufacturing environment and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
• Conduct time studies on the manufacturing floor to analyze and enhance production processes.
• Utilize AutoCAD for designing and optimizing layouts, workflows, and production systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of costing to contribute to cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to analyze data, prepare reports, and communicate findings.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred), or Associates/Technical degree, or 5 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
• Experience performing time studies in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for process layout and design.
• Basic understanding of costing principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience level:

• 5 years of engineering experience, preferred.
