Rennscot is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our growing team. The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a track record of driving financial success in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will also have strong interest or passion in excited industries our customers operate in. The Controller will be the first in-house financial role within the organization and will be expected to perform activities at all levels.

Description

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end financial close processes, including the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support business planning and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with external CPAs to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, including working capital, budget variances, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to senior management, offering recommendations for operational and financial efficiencies.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and policies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance and accounting.
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records for the company, including recording transactions, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
  • Support HR administration by performing employee onboarding, maintaining employee records, facilitating payroll, and managing benefits enrollment.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline. CPA certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to stakeholders.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial planning software is a plus.
