The Window/Door Installation Trainer will be responsible for the training and evaluation of window & door installation personnel. They will be instrumental in promoting a “culture” of continuous training throughout the company and will work closely with the Learning and Development Manager and Operation Managers to ensure that hands-on training in the skill sets needed by our Installers and Installation Process Managers is available in our on-demand training within the LMS.
Carpentry skills and knowledge of useful tools are required for this position. If you have worked in framing, cabinetmaking, millwork, window or door installation, and would like to train the next generation of people joining this trade, we invite you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate learning via classroom instruction; incorporate a variety of presentation methods and applications to accommodate adult learning styles.
  • Training topics will include Window & Door: removal, installation, technical measuring training, and customer service training.
  • Deliver new hire training programs; provide creative, effective classroom instruction throughout the organization.
  • Manage classroom environment, analyze results and identify gaps in training needs.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Training Department by identifying ways to continuously improve the learning process.
  • Ensure all employees comply with all established company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate all activities, deficits, hours, and issues that occur during the training to the Learning and Development Manager immediately.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to training classes and trainee performance.
  • Perform various other tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to motivate and maintain high morale in self and others.
  • Provide On-the-Job Training as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Residential Construction Experience – Window/Door Experience Preferred
  • Construction Trades Leadership or Vocational Training Experience is Required
  • Exceptional Facilitation, Presentation, and Listening Skills
  • Bilingual a plus – Fluent in English, Spanish is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attentive to detail.
  • Highly proficient in time management, organization, planning and prioritization.
  • Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, self-motivated and highly enthusiastic.
  • Ability to manage changing tasks/projects simultaneously; meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environment.
  • Demonstrate professional and independent discretion and judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport.
  • Committed to excellence, has strong work ethics and takes pride in their work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Ability/willingness to travel locally. Ability to work a flexible schedule to support training program needs.
